Ferguson Bad Loser and Terrible Winner
Posted by admin
Alex Ferguson is hailed as the best manager of the last 20 years and rightly so. However we all know he usually sends someone else out to face the cameras if United lose and rarely offers credit to the opposition . He doesn’t often lose gracefully. Managing Manchester United you would have thought that he would have won enough games to win gracefully though. A fortunate win helped in no small part by the referee saw Fergie and Gary Neville jump about like kangaroos on speed. Rubbing City’s nose in it seemed to be his aim both on the pitch and afterwards with the press. Quite why this was necessary is a mystery. If ,as he maintains, United are superior to City the result was a fore gone conclusion and therefore unworthy of the delirium that followed Michael Owens late winner.
Mr Ferguson could do worse that take a leaf out of Michael Owens way of dealing with the outcome of any game which offers no smugness in victory and some generosity in defeat. I was pleased to see Owen get a break because he never deserved all the criticism he has received and the journalists can have a week off telling us he is finished.
Maybe he will grow up before he reaches retirement but I doubt it. Or maybe being a bad loser is the reason we wins so many.
Referees help United and Chelsea retain power balance
Posted by admin
It was a day when Manchester City and Tottenham were trying to make the title race more open and both played as though it was a real possibility. Unfortunately in both cases the man in the middle played a huge part in stopping that happening as they favoured the big four sides or the home sides to leave the balance of power unchanged.
Its a puzzle where the time came from that allowed United to steal the points at old Trafford. An absolute knife through the heart for City who came from behind 3 times but were only left with 16 seconds to score another equaliser after Owen grabbed the winner.
Howard Webb was completely hopeless in his decision making or more accurately non decision making in the Chelsea / Tottenham game. First Webb said no foul when Jermain Defoe was upended by Cavalho within a yard of the edge of the area denying a direct free kick in a very dangerous area. Then he allowed the same player to get away with upending Robbie Keane in the area for a clear penalty which would have made a very even game 1 – 1. Unfortunately , as so often happens, the injustice has a double benefit to the offending team. Having got away with murder they are able to take advantage of the disarray caused by the travesty of justice and go down the other end and score almost immediately.
Even when the game was up for Tottenham the referee still totally ignored Ashley Cole running into Peter Crouch like a demented bumper car driver whilst looking away from the incoming football. There is no excuse for this level of bias or incompetence it always favours the top sides and especially at home.
The teams aspiring to get in amongst the top four need to feel they can get an occasional decision when they go to a top four club. What are the chances of a visiting club getting a penalty at Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge? Virtually nil, I can tell you that. We need to get this sort of bias out of the game now

Arsenal FC play beautiful, flowing teamwork football, emphasizing passing skill and speed, and working the ball into a close range position to score. Will Manchester City this season provide the level of competition expected from them?

Manchester City have flashed their cash once again bringing in the likes of Emannuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez, etc.
But in my opinion:
You can buy fancy players.
You can’t buy chemistry.
What do you think?
You can’t win titles without spending money on fancy players.
It requires a charasmatic manager who is capable of getting the best out of the players. Mark Hughes will need to be judged over a two year period, not a few games.
Confidence is more important than chemistry.
Where can i find examples of Chelsea players autographs?
Posted by admin
I Have bought a signed chelsea shirt on ebay and there is 9 or 10 autographs on it. Does anyone know of a website where i can check all the current players autographs to see who i have. I have tried chelsea website, wiki, bbc squad profile( no luck) and the online autograph stores but they are hard to make out. Examples on a white background would be great! Thank you!
The links below may help you to source for the autographed jerseys I hope.
Cheers
